Ben smiled against the warm shoulder when he felt those familiar fingers sift his hair. It was a relaxing feeling that could take Ben down from an escalated anger in a split second. It made him think back to their teen years when Benjamin would get very protective over him and with just one single touch or look; Abeal could put out his fire. He chuckled silently as he thought of how many other brothers out there had the kind of relationship like them. He enjoyed their closeness however. He wouldn't trade it for the world.
Looking up at the sweet words, he smiled back in a way that said it was not a problem, "It's my job after all." Ben simply stated and with a flashing idea, he put his whole arm across Abi's chest and pretty much pinned him to the mattress with just his hand, forcing the younger to look up at him where he was laying casually on his side, head in hand. Smirking down at Abi he said nothing, it was common knowledge that Ben had issues with looking up at people. He liked to be eye level with his brothers. For a long time he searched the pools that were slightly similar to his own. It was as if he was searching for an answer to something and when he looked away, it was a sign that Ben had not found what he was looking for. There was so much he wanted to tell him, but knew he couldn't.
"Come on." He said all of a sudden and pulled back the sheets, he got situated underneath the covers and opened his arms, "You need to sleep so come here." Ben may have been tender when it came to his brother, but his voice always had a demanding trim to it as was his personality. He was used to having people do whatever he told them to. Yet with his brother, his words were a sign that he would protect him all throughout the night. Abi never knew that when they snuggled together to sleep, Ben was more comforted by him than his brother probably was of him.
